We are thrilled to welcome the superb Folk Roots Festival to the Highclere Show this May half-term holiday, over 28th & 29th May 2022.
Featuring some of the finest Folk, Jazz and Blues musicians from around the country, visitors are sure to be up on their feet as they listen to some show-stopping sounds!
On the Saturday of the Highclere Show, the Folk Roots Festival welcomes Elizabeth & Jameson, an award-winning folk duo who are rising stars in the UK acoustic music scene. Merging traditional folk and folk pop/rock, this duo offers simplicity and classic song writing at its very best and are definitely one to check out over the weekend!
Jack Blackman & The Beautiful Wreck will also be performing on the Saturday of the event. A band featuring one of the most accomplished and exciting young singer-songwriters and guitarists on the roots scene today, Jack Blackman and his band are no strangers to blues and folk, fusing country, rock and pop to create some superb arrangements.
The Rants will be performing to visitors on Saturday too, bringing their new multi-genre, multi-instrumental acoustics, whilst serving up a fabulous musical gumbo drawn from Blues, Folk and Americana roots.
Sunday’s offering is pretty impressive too. Cole & Ward bring their unique rapport that is highly entertaining. A top-class blues duo features the powerful, passionate vocals and dynamic guitar of multi-instrumentalist Mark Cole, in tandem with Liam Ward’s emotionally charged virtuoso harmonica that are not to be missed!
Derbyshire 5-piece The Rogue Embers have quickly established themselves as one of the fastest up and coming bands in the Midlands. Having played extensively at venues and festivals around the country, we are thrilled they will be attending the Highclere Show on the Sunday of the Show.
If Celtic music is more your thing, Govannen are one of the finest good-time Celtic music dance bands in the UK. Blending jigs and reels with traditional and contemporary Irish songs, this popular and award-winning band are great fun and highly entertaining.
