The Highclere Show takes place over the Spring Bank Holiday, over 26th and 27th May 2024… and we welcome back the Countryside Arena to the Highclere Show

The Countryside Arena welcomes experts in their chosen fields and is somewhere you can learn and take some handy tips home to implement yourselves.

At the Highclere Show Countryside Arena, we have a fantastic line-up for you, including:

Hywel Morgan is a World Champion Fly Caster and has years of knowledge of fly casting and fishing. He will demonstrate the numerous ways of casting, depending on the many factors you may be faced with. If you are interested in learning more about Fly Fishing, there really is nobody better than Hywel Morgan.

Dan Mercer Falconry will introduce you to the ancient art of falconry with some beautiful birds of prey flying in the arena. Watch up close as these amazing species glide through the air and back to their owner (mostly!). Dan is very passionate about Falconry, and this shows in his display!

The Vine and Craven Hunt will be bringing along their hound pack for people to come into the arena and get up close with them. The loveable hound packs are very energetic and the Vine and Craven Hunt will talk you through what it is like to own a hound, and the upkeep it takes!

Graham Watkins of “Gamegoer Gundogs” having moved to Devon has recently retired from full-time professional dog training after 40 years very happy years in the business. However he still continues to demonstrate dog training at shows throughout the country in a style that most of his audiences can relate to; be it for work or pet – the same logic applies.

The Gundog Clinic with Hawcroft Gundogs. John Robertson will be providing some helpful tips and tricks to help you with your dog. From basic commands to some more challenging techniques, John will take you through proven methods to help you train your dog.
